Remembering Adrian Sudbury
- SUDBURY, ADRIAN -
20th August 2008, BRAVE journalist Adrian Sudbury died early today.
The 27-year-old Examiner reporter - who had fought a courageous battle against leukaemia and waged a campaign for education about bone marrow donation - passed away with his family beside him at their home in Nottinghamshire.
Sudbury had battled the disease for almost two years but a bone marrow transplant was sadly rejected by his body.

- Hello Adrian. Have recently come across your story and it has touched me deeply to see how courageous and strong-willed you have been on what must have been a very difficult journey. I am due to donate bone marrow next week and hope that I can help this particular leukaemia patient. I also hope through you and others like you, that people will think about donating bone marrow. God bless mate and rest in peace. John : - )

- I only read excepts of Adrian's blog while he was alive, but I spent yesterday reading through the whole thing. I just wanted to say what an honor it was to have been touched, like so many, by such an inspirational person. Thank you and God bless x

- It is very sad to hear about his death. I just started reading his blog by chance, and it is sad to hear what happens at the end.

- Adrian passed away the day after I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. I'm in an odd state of remission right now, with a marrow test coming back negative but a blood/DNA test showing positive. I was contacted by a doctor this morning about doing a bone marrow transplant. I'm terrified. But, through the terror, I want to thank Adrian posthumously for placing his life and his struggle on the internet for all to see. It's making it much easier for me to at least try to get through this.
Thanks for making your life into something wonderful.

- It was strange that I happened to stumble upon Adrian's story and activism by accident, in the European section of a local web page. I live in Oklahoma, U.S.A. Since May 2008, I would check in on his blog to see his progress. It is a bit late in the game to be offering condolences. I didn't know what to say. I am so very sorry for your loss. It is inspiring that his work is still going on. One can only imagine the lives Adrian has and will continue to save. What a remarkable young man. What a tragic loss for this planet. May God grant you the strength to carry on the legacy that Adrian began.
